I believe that the way we perceive and think about our lives has a profound impact on the way we experience our lives. When we realize that we have options in the way we perceive and think, we realize options in our lives that we were not able to see before. This shift is necessary in order to effectively relieve anxiety, depression, and our inability to move forward from past disappointments and traumatic experiences.
I utilize a wide range of approaches including Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, EMDR, Internal Family Systems, the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and other experiential methods. These approaches are offered within a setting of acceptance and non-judgment.
I have found the integration of mental, spiritual, and physical experience to be invaluable for improving psychological health and helping people connect with their own inner guidance.
I have training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which is a treatment that has been identified by the American Psychiatric Association to be an effective treatment for trauma. I am trained in using mindfulness in psychotherapy which can enhance the effectiveness of therapeutic work. I completed a 48 hour training in Internal Family Systems therapy with Derek Scott at the Internal Family Systems Counseling Association. I also have training in Byron Katie’s work to challenge current belief systems which may be creating our psychological and emotional discomfort. I am a Yoga Teacher (200 hour).
I use my extensive training in breath work, mindfulness, and meditation to assist clients in coping with stress and connecting with their intuition. Mindfulness practice teaches your mind not to react when something changes; you move from a state of confusion and fear to a state of clarity and calm. I enjoy offering meditation and mindfulness workshops.
